problem with booting

dear frnds... i was watchng a video cd...suddenly the monitor turned out to b a white screen...and got hanged thn i switched it off and turned it on....tuk out the cd wen the windows was loadin...and as soon as it entered the desktop screen...the same happend again... after tht my laptop(ACER TRAVELMATE 292LCI) doesnt boots in... it jus shows up an indication on the CD SIGN on the top right of the laptop... plz help me with a solution...:-(...
